Rumney Associates offers complete graphic design services for developing comprehensive way finding and interior and exterior identification sign systems in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. We have considerable experience in developing these types of sign systems for a wide range of state, municipal, commercial and institutional clients.
The firm has been responsible for the design and implementation of interior and exterior sign programs for numerous urban centers, college buildings and campuses, libraries and museums, courthouse and office complexes, acute care hospitals and out patient facilities, mass transit facilities, parking garages, large scale sports complexes, theaters, shopping centers and enclosed malls.
Our Approach
We evaluate and document existing sign systems, perform a review of code requirements, prepare evaluation reports, create a sign program, and prepare contract drawings and specifications. We also provide contract supervision and administration services to oversee the fabrication and installation phases of our sign projects.
Our firm also creates visual identities and designs communications materials for major corporate, institutional and retail projects. We work closely with our clients to create a unique visual mark, choose an appropriate typeface or typefaces, and select signature colors. This new visual identity is then implemented into sign systems, communications materials, public relations and marketing materials, ad templates, posters or banners.
Our services also include computer-aided drafting for architects and engineers using AutoCAD and Microstation formats. This capability is utilized in enhancing our sign system documents so that they are easily integrated with the work of other design professionals. Graphic elements are developed with Macintosh and PC based software and integrated into the CAD based drawing sets utilizing AutoCAD and Microstation software. Our staff is also proficient with most leading Macintosh based graphic design software applications.
We are certified as a Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE/DBE) and/or a Small Business Enterprise by various State Agencies throughout the northeast.
